Green, round, sour-tasting fruit with a smooth, ribbed exterior. One of the richest natural sources of vitamin C.
Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry, is one of the most revered fruits in Ayurveda and traditional Indian medicine, celebrated for its exceptional health benefits. This small, round, green fruit has a smooth, ribbed exterior and a sour, astringent taste that becomes somewhat sweeter after cooking. Amla is a nutritional powerhouse—it contains one of the highest concentrations of natural vitamin C (up to 700 mg per 100g), significantly more than oranges or lemons. It is also rich in vitamin A, calcium, iron, phosphorus, fiber, and powerful antioxidants like ellagic acid and gallic acid. These compounds work together to boost immunity, protect cells from oxidative stress, support heart health, improve digestion, promote hair growth, enhance skin radiance, and maintain healthy vision. Amla is traditionally consumed fresh, as a juice, or in preserved forms like 'amla murabba' (sweet preserve), 'amla candy', or 'amla pickle'. It is also a key ingredient in the famous Ayurvedic formulation 'Chyawanprash'. Our amla is organically grown, hand-picked at peak maturity, and carefully sorted to ensure premium quality. We supply fresh amla as well as processed amla products including dried amla powder and amla juice concentrate.
